End of the Ride Week ~ Fort Stanton 2009 ~

Fort Stanton Pioneer Endurance Rides are in the books for 2009. We had a great time as always, and it was so much fun to see friends from all over the country.

Junior riders were in abundance this week, and we were so glad to see them. Not only did they do a fantastic job riding, but they reminded us how to play. Every night, after the day's riding was over, they would give their horses a few hours off to rest, then you would see them riding bareback around camp, playing and just enjoying each other's company. Good to remember.

Later in the week, cooling off was in order (see photo above) and the kids had as much fun in that old beat up, (ran over by a truck) water tank as they would have in an olympic size pool. I barely have the energy to post photos to the website and these kids are riding, splashing, playing and totally enjoying life! Just watching them made me feel better. Life is good.
