Santa Baby...

These are examples of excessive cuteness and are probably
to cute for my computer...if yours crashes while
looking at today's blog, it's not my fault...

All I could think of were the lyrics to "Santa Baby" when I was editing
these photos!

And then this happened...

Santa Baby's equally cute parental units...

Christmas is truly magical!

Cutie Pie...

This little angel has a special Christmas gift for her Dad, who is
deployed with the military this holiday season.

Her and her Mom surprised him with portraits!

I think he'll like them...what a beautiful family...

Merry Christmas to you all.  May you have a peaceful and blessed
Holiday Season...

Violet came to visit for two weeks and has stolen our hearts forever...
Our dear friends, Gene and Shelley just added her to their family and between her and her big sister Lily,
kept our dogs running and playing for days!

Violet is just too cute and so happy.  Just had to share her happy face on the blog.

When she rested, she REALLY rested!  She played so hard her tail was dragging. Literally.

She was a huge help watering horses too!

What a great time we had!  Apparently, so did she!

I'm pretty sure if you bottled up then sold this much cuteness, you'd be rich very quickly!

What a great time meeting Savanna and her family!  She is precious!

Congratulations to Martin and Megan on such a gorgeous daughter!
May you all have years and years of joy!  I know you will!

Sue Riley...

A little over two months ago, Sue Riley left us to ride endurance in heaven.

I have a photo of her and I riding together at the Ft Stanton Endurance Ride from 2009 that I
look at almost every day.

Sue reinforced what my sister Brenda taught me about cancer.  Live each day to the fullest, period.

I try to do that every day as I glance at Sue's photo before I walk out the door.

At the 2009 Ride the Divide Endurance Ride, Sue and I were riding up a pretty steep hill that
seemed to go on forever.  She was physically sick from her medication, and spent most of the climb
getting sick off the side of her mare.  I asked her if she wanted to stop at all, she didn't, so we continued on to the vet check.  Roger Taylor and others helped her get a bite to eat and off we went back to camp following the hold time.

About an hour after we got back to camp, Sue walked over to our trailer and handed me a water
bottle she had purchased for me.   It said. "Ride 'till you Puke"... that pretty much sums it up!

Sue loved our sport.  She loved riding.  She was very good at it.  While battling cancer, she managed to finish all six days of the Ft. Stanton Endurance Rides in 2008 and 2009.  I could barely finish six days in 2005 while completely healthy!

I (and so many others) miss you Sue.  You're my hero.

AHCEP Challenge Show ~ 2010...

Arabian Horse Club of El Paso Challenge Show was held this weekend at Armstrong's Equine Services in Las Mesa.  The venue was a beautiful setting and once again, everyone had a great time!

I love photographing this particular show.  The kids are always having such a great time.

The show staff offers "Stick Horse" classes during the lunch break and contestants are required to walk, trot and canter (in the correct lead, of course) as they compete with their stick steeds.

Put this show on your calendar for 2011.  It's too much fun to miss.

All show photos can be seen at:

Liberty Shots...

Liberty shots are just about my favorite type of horse photos to take.
You can tell so much about their personality and their zest for life!

Here's a few of my favorites!

Ken and Amber...

Ken and Amber...You're an inspiration for all of us in how to love each other...

These kids are so beautiful I don't think you could take a BAD photo of them!

We chose Oliver Lee State Park for the background on this session.

I kind of have a passion for military families...they are special and sacrifice so much...

Thank you for allowing me to capture just a few family moments,

...and thank you for your service.

Komen Race for the Cure - Denver - 2010

The 2010 Komen Race for the Cure was a huge success!  Over 50,000 people walking
(I saw a number on someone's shirt that was 54,374) and over $1,000,000 was
raised during the walk this past Sunday.

The above photo depicts how hard it is for teenagers to wake up early
and participate!  Too funny!

My sister Brenda is now a four time cancer survivor and my hero.  It's an honor
to be able to walk with her every year in Denver...she's the one in the pink
survivor t-shirt.

Even "The Little Dude" walked with us....kind of.

This was the scene (above) just before we turned towards Mile High Stadium...

You can see everyone walking to the left on the on ramp to I-25.  We were
standing on the overpass which was also packed with people...everyone was
honking their horns and I know cheering us on!

Another view from the on ramp.  This is the largest Komen Race for the Cure in
the country.  What a privilege to be a part of such a great cause.

Join us next October in Denver!  We have a blast!

CJ Arabians..Las Vegas

This handsome guy is CJ Tritan, a two year old Davenport stallion that
will take your breath away.

Jim and I had the privilege to spend last weekend in Las Vegas meeting
the crew at CJ Arabians, breeders of Davenport Arabians.

Chris and Jay compete in endurance riding and also own the stallion
Bah-Rani LF, an AERC Jim Jones Stallion Award contender for 2010.

I was so tickled to get to ride Bah-Rani on trail while I was there.  These
horses have the BEST dispositions and "how can I make you happy" attitudes.
I don't know of anywhere else that I could have arrived at a farm, taken their stallion out on trail
for a three hour ride, having never met the horse before, and not worry about a thing.

Spend one hour in their presence, and you know you're with special horses.
There are none like them.  The wonderful thing is...every Davenport Arabian
I've ever spent time has been the same way.

Look at that beautiful face!  This is CJ Sal Sahiid, a four year old Davenport son
of Bah-Rani LF.  He's a great kisser !.

I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to "walk among the Davenports"...
like we used to do at Craver Farms in Illinois.

Jim, Amy and I have been blessed to have loved five Davenport Arabian horses
in our lifetimes.  (You don't really own them, they kind of adopt you...)

One, is my current distance riding mare, Artemisia CF.
There was also Demitasse CF, Artema, Fakher El Alamein (Valentino) and
Prelude CF.  Each one so special in their own way.

If you'd like to visit and find out more about these exceptional
Arabian horses and their owners, you can reach CJ Arabians at
(702) 220-5228 or (702) 296-7715.  As is the case with every
Davenport Arabian I know, they love to meet new people.
Just give Chris and Jay a call so they can open the gates for you!

If you'd like to learn more about the Davenport Arabian horse, you can do so here:

It's quite a story...

Until next time,   Linda

White Sands Hot Air Balloon Festival 2010...

White Sands Hot Air Balloon Festival for 2010 kicked off this morning in Alamogordo, and White Sands
National Monument...it was so much fun watching them inflate the balloons.  Hadn't seen that done
before.  I'm addicted to COLOR, so today was pretty fun!

I loved how this huge balloon (maroon with stars) looked so tiny compared to one of
the balloons inflating at Washington Park.

This is facing east from the park.  Love the background of mountains and the foreground of trees.

If you'd like to see more from the festival, or order a print or mounted canvas for your
home or office, here's the link!

Portraits and Personalities...

One of my favorite things to do is take portraits of animals.

I had the chance this weekend at the Caja Endurance Ride.  I am absolutely
addicted to putting these types of photos onto mounted canvases.  They are
stunning hanging on the wall, and look like oil paintings.

I have owned Doberman's for over 20 years off and on...this guy
really got my attention and reminded me why I loved them so much!
Thanks Leo!

He was so sweet and lovable.  Here, he is reminding us not to get too close
to his "Mom"... seconds later, he was licking my face!

Until next time,  Linda

Carl and Karen Part II...

Had to share a few more of my favorite photos!

These two are just dolls!  Both looked so proud to be a part of the ceremony...

This just looks magical!

Until next time,

Carl and Karen...

Join me in celebrating Carl and Karen's wedding!  Carl is a police
officer so I thought their cake topper was priceless!

Karen's dress was stunning!

He looks rather dapper too!

One more view of the dress...Loved, loved, loved it!

Congratulations, you two!

May you have decades of love and laughter...
