Jim and I were back at Animal Village N.M. today getting "advertising" photos for all these adorable
dogs. Be sure and stop by and say hello to Sunny and all the great staff there. Incredible love and
care going on there! If you're not in a position to adopt a dog or cat of your own, please consider
making a donation of pet food for the "Pet Food Bank" or a monetary donation to help defray costs.
Animal Village is located on US Hwy 70 just north of La Luz Gate Rd north of Alamogordo, NM.
Volunteers are always needed too! Click here for more information: Animal Village

The sunset hour is the most magical time here. You can watch the
sunset light up the mountains, then turn around, and watch the
actual sunset itself, setting in another mountain range.
This shot was taken just minutes after the one above. The light literally changes minute
by minute during this last hour of daylight to dusk.
The last few minutes lit up the hills like orange pumpkin!
This one was my favorite. Purple almost appeared inside the orange, just as the
sun set behind me. Take your camera out this week and see what you can
find in the golden hour!
Remember to be thankful. This is priceless!

It's been one of those days...I mean weeks...no, I mean months.
Got back from a great Imaging USA conference in Texas
and immediately tried to kick in all the gears and rush around to catch
up on what I hadn't gotten done while I was gone. Ended up
with a broken wrist from tripping and falling the day I got home.
Who would have guessed that a little wrist wouldn't have been
able to break my fall? Silly....
Anyhow, things are healing and life goes on with a valuable
lesson learned...slow down.
There is nothing that can't wait while you rest and relax a little
every once in a while. Even I "get it" this time.
So, notice the flowers, the beauty of everything around you and
stop once in a while to notice who needs a hug and then go give one.
The rest can wait. If you don't learn this lesson, you may just get it
handed to you on a plate...or in the form of a purple cast...I'm just sayin'....

It doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while we get a glimpse of what real winter looks
like. We sympathize with those in worse situations today who are getting blasted by arctic air, but
we really don't know how to act here when the weather gets below 10 degrees! We'll experience that
for the next couple of days.
The Sacramento Mountains are just across the street, and are majestic every day, but especially
so when it snows and gets foggy.
I could live here all my life and never see these mountains look the same from one day to the next.
God truly gives us something to marvel over just looking out the window.
We're truly blessed. I would challenge anyone who doesn't think the southwest is a beautiful part
of the country to come on out and visit! There's a change every day!
